Can I connect my old xbox 360 controller, to my Elite xbox 360?

My dad bought a new xbox 360 elite, and we only have the one controller. Is it possible to connect my old 360 white contollers? If so, how?Can I connect my old xbox 360 controller, to my Elite xbox 360?

yes all 360 controllers work on all 360s all you need to do is sync the controller which is turn on your controller and 360 then on the top on the controller there is a little button hold that down well hitting down the little buttons on your xbox then your controller will sync with the elite your gonna have to do it again if you want that controller back to your other xbox

yea sure theres a button on the xbox near the usb. click it and the lights will go in a circle searching for a new controller. turn the controller on and it should connect.
