Press the little white button next to the two memory card slots, and quickly find and press the black button on the side of the guitar.

you need to sync them
ask someone at Best Buy
they sure kno alot
All you need to do is sync the controller. Their is a button very small and circular on the front of the Xbox towards the middle of the console. The green lights on the power button will start spinning, then where ever the sync button on the controller is press that and it should find in a matter of seconds.
