I haven't tried it...but I would think it should be possible. Just like you could play 'Dance Dance Revolution' with the PS2 controller.
However, thinking deeper about this, I would think not. The guitar/drums/mic are attached to the PS3 via USB, and the technology with both Rock Band and the PS3 are far more sophisticated than DDR and the PS2. The game is able to identify exactly what is attached (and not attached).Can you Play Rock Band with just a ps3 controller?
its possible for the guitars and drums but not mic the mic senses your voice...
