Since it is a wireless guitar, you must sync it up with your machine like you do with wireless controllers. Hold down the sync button on your guitar while holding down the sync button on the front of your 360 (smallest white button) until the green lights on your guitar stop flashing and become solid green in one of the 4 quadrants.How do you connect my guitar hero 3 controller to my xbox 360?

if it is a wired controller u plug it into the USB ports on the bottom of the front of the xbox. u have to push back a little door.
but if it is wireless, push down the little xbox logo until the rings around it turn green
