Nvidia networking controller not working on HP Pavilion dv6700, drivers screwed up?

I have a HP Pavilion dv6700 laptop and I cant get my LAN or whatever to work. Every time I plug the ethernet cord into my computer it tells me I'm connected with limited connectivity and I cannot use the internet. I tried downloading the drivers for the networking controller from the HP website, that didn't work either, I tried all of the self help options on the computer, still nothing. Someone please help. Thanks.Nvidia networking controller not working on HP Pavilion dv6700, drivers screwed up?
This sounds suspiciously like the problems that HP is admitting to in their free repair of dv6000 series systems. See if this link describes the problem your having (I think it does) and if it does contact HP and see if they will repair it for free.

Chances are they will claim it's out of the extended warranty period (that's the answer they gave to my client who had a bad HP dv6000 series).
