Where can I find an ethernet controller for dell Inspiron E1505?

i've looked, and can't find it. Where can I find an ethernet controller for dell Inspiron E1505?
This computer is a laptop. A NIC (Network interface Controller) is located on the Rear of the computer. Looks like a big phone jack, the proper name for this connector is a RJ45. This is used for Wired Ethernet networks.

Now if you are talking about A Wireless Controller, your computer has a card installed for that purpose. Should be 802.11g, You may have to turn on a switch to activate it.

ETHERNET is a technology or a agreed upon standard on how data is to be moved from place to place. (802.3)

A NETWORK describes how computers are interconnected,( LOCAL or WIDE, VIRTUAL) A CONTROLLER describes a device or piece of hardware. ie a NIC or Network interface controller.

WLAN then would be a Wireless Local area Network. It most likely will use Ethernet standard of communicating using a Wireless controller.

Commonly everyone uses Ethernet adapter and Network connection, Ethernet controller interchangeably. So Ethernet and WLAN are not the same really. But most will understand what you mean.

Don't confuse the technology or agreed upon standard on how data should be exchanged, with types of Networks that MAY use Ethernet as the standard of exchanging data, with the devices that make it possible.

hi there.

you need to install the rigth driver for that controller.

install ALL network drivers of your system.

1. broadcom 440x 10/100 integrated controller (for an integrated NIC otherwise download the right driver for your NIC driver)

2. intel pro/wireless 3945ABG network connection

3. and lastly the conexant driver (internal modem driver) that's under Communication.

Note: ALL drivers mentioned are only applicable if you haven't installed third party network cards yourself.

also, if it still wont help then it might be possible you have to install the driver/s for any third party hardware installed like printer, scanner, etc.

you can call DELL for technical help or you can repost if you have other concerns you might wanna bring up.

Best of luck though.

^_^

and oh additional notes just to make sure. dont forget to make sure the system type is correct and also the operating is the right one for the drivers.
